Avatar Movie Review: Have You Been Na'Ti

Yesterday afternoon my husband and I went to see Avatar in 3D.  Personally, I am rather hesitant to spend the extra 3 or 4 dollars for the 3D version, but DH was insistent that he wanted to see it in 3D.  For the first half hour I had some strange sinus pressure and the picture was blurry.  Finally, after I found the right angle to look through the 3D shades the picture came in clear.  The only times I really saw a difference with the picture was when there were items like ashes or leaves falling – it was then that it looked like the images were popping out of the screen.  The surround sound was the best part.  That was what made me feel like I was actually in the movie.

Like many of the review this story line was pretty weak.  The creatures and sci-fi nature of the flick are what made the movie worth while.  Animation has come so far that what you see on the screen is no longer cartoonish.  The creatures and people look real.  They are very detailed down to the individual muscles and facial expressions and each eyelash.  It is just amazing what movie designers are able to accomplish with computer animation.
