Clarks Un.Poem Women's Shoes – Cute and Comfy

In the search for comfortable walking shoes it has been a real hassle to find shoes made for walking that didn’t look like old-lady shoes or which did come  in a Wide Width.  Unfortunately after two babies my feet have expanded to the point of being a wide and a half size longer.   Finally, on a trip to Chicago I found the perfect flat shoe that is both comfortable and stylish.  I would not be shy about wearing the Clarks Un.Poem with slacks, jeans, shorts or casual skirts.

Just got these the other day at the Clarks Factory outlet store in Michigan City, IN and I love them.  The price was $69.99 plus tax which is a $50 savings over the $119 MSRP.  That is a pretty good deal given I’ve been looking for a good pair of shoes for 5 years.  Had to get them in a 6 1/2 W and I typically wear a 7 wide, so in the wide they run long, and a little too wide in the heel (always a problem for me and wide shoes).  With a good pair of socks or barefoot they fit nicely and do hug the foot.  One thing I did notice is that the back of the shoe hits my heel in a bad place to wear barefoot for long periods of time without a bandaid or some kind of protection.  My hope is that with time this will dissipate as the shoe breaks in.  Could use a little extra arch support for me, but the softness is beyond compare.  Saved my feet for a long weekend walking all over Chicago when they were brand spanking new!  Another small pet peeve of mine is that the strap is not adjustable but attached by button hole to a button tied to the shoe by elastic.  I fear that over time this will become too loose allowing room for my foot to slide forward in the shoe crushing my toes, but only time will tell if this does happen.  So far so very good though.

I’ve been searching around for these shoes all over the internet since I bought them because I’d really like to get them in the red.  It seems that stock is running out all over the place so if you can find a pair in your size – grab them now.  I’d recommend using a rebate site like Ebates as a pass-through to your favorite internet shopping sites so you get an even better deal in the end.
