Keep Your Kids Entertained with Matryoshka by Kidoteca

Kidoteca-LogoIf you have a Smart Phone you know that it is a magnet for the kiddos and can be a source of great entertainment.  The problem is there are so many options it can be hard to know which games and apps are appropriate for the little ones.  Some games are too advanced and require a lot of reading.  Others require quick tapping or series of taps to get anything to work.  Yet others have content that is just not appropriate – either because of violence or just plain stupidity – for young children.

I was given the opportunity through Sverve to review a game that is specifically designed for ages 2 through 6.  It’s called Matryosha created by Kidoteca.  I know the name is a little odd, but the game is really cute.  If you’ve ever seen a Russian nesting doll you’ll understand what this game entails.  There are a series of levels, none of which you need to unlock, that feature cute little creatures all nested inside the others.  First your child will take apart the dolls one by one until they are all un-nested and then put them back together.  Once the doll is all put together in order they get a surprise flashing across the screen like balloons they can pop or some other interactive bauble.

My four year old enjoyed playing the game.  The surprises at the end of the levels were her favorite.  Her only complaint was that she didn’t like the monster level.   In the all-in-one game that incorporated all the levels I had to convince her to continue through that level so she could get her score at the end.  It really freaked her out.  She really enjoyed the first level with the farm animals which didn’t take her long to master.  The levels do get more and more difficult as you  move along.

Matryoshka by Kidoteca is available for purchase iOS and Android.  For Android users you can purchase it on the Google Play store for $1.99.  That’s a small price to pay for keeping your little ones entertained.
