Framesi BY Shampoo and Conditioner Review #beautycarechoices {Giveaway ends 10/22/14}

MyHoneyHighlights800If you’ve ever read my blog before you’ll know I take a lot of attention in caring for my hair.  My mother always taught  me to pamper my locks.  It was important to protect, moisturize and trim my hair on a regular basis.  Though she has dyed her hair for the better part of 50 years from her natural dark brown to blue black, red, blonde and everything in between she encouraged me to hold off dyeing my tresses until I absolutely had to do it.  Her lament is that once you start dyeing it is almost impossible to stop because the hair gets damaged, fades and grows out demanding you to keep coloring.

Though I never went too awfully crazy with dyeing my hair I have had highlights, lighter shades and then darker shades of brown.  Shortly after my youngest was born I swore not to dye my hair until I needed to AKA started going grey.  Well, about two years later four white hairs simultaneously started growing out right on the side where I part my hair.  Even so, I have held out because, well, it’s only 4 and it’s not so bad.  BUT even though I do not color my hair currently I still need to protect my natural hair color from fading. I still need to keep my hair shiny, conditioned and silky.

I received a complimentary bottle of Framesi BY Shampoo and Conditioner.  BY or Be Yourself is formulated specifically for color treated hair.  What that meant to me is that it is gentler and not supposed to strip the hair too aggressively.  First of all, I noticed that the shampoo was shiny as if it had flecks of glitter.  It had pearl powder!  The conditioner was really rich.  They both have a wonderful slightly melon-like fragrance.  Over all the Framesi BY left my hair super shiny, silky and smelling great.  One downside is it didn’t do much for my frizzies.  The hair on the back of my head still ended up looking like straw even when I tried to straighten it with a flat iron.

Since BY was formulated for color treated hair I gave the remainder of the bottles to my mom so she could used them.  She had been using a 2-in-1 dandruff shampoo because she liked how it left her hair texture, but it unfortunately stripped the hair so aggressively that her hair color started fading just after 2 washes.  After a week of using the Framesi BY set I asked her how her hair was doing and she mentioned she liked it and that she didn’t notice much extra fading.

Framesi BY Shampoo and Conditioner is available at participating salons and on the Beauty Care Choices website.
