Before Fysiko Eyelash Growth Serum

If you look at my Amazon wishlist you’ll find several brands of eyelash growth serum ranging in price from a few dollars to a few hundred dollars.  Growing my eyelashes is a subject that has plagued and concerned me for years.  Though my grandmother had very long eyelashes I was not blessed with inheriting that trait from her.  I remember when I was a teenager looking at my aunts and cousins that had long eyelashes with envy.  My lashes are by no means stubby, but there is no way you’d catch me out in public without mascara – my look changes completely from frumpy and tired to put together and awake.  I’ve always wanted to be able to forgo the mascara for a more natural, less lash-stressing look.

My oldest daughter thankfully did inherit long beautiful dark lashes that I hope she truly appreciates and babies when she gets older.  For me now in my thirties the prospect of starting to lose my lashes is a very real possibility.  Because of stress and child birth and other factors I’ve gone through periods where no amount of mascara could make it look like I had much in the way of lashes and it was best just to let my lids rest and recover.  Thanks to SVerve and Fysiko I’ve been given the opportunity to try Fysiko Eyelash Growth Serum.

When I told my husband I was applying for the review opportunity the first thing he asked was, ” It’s not made in China, is it?”  I had done a little bit of research on the product and was pleased to find that it was made in the USA.  This in and of itself made me feel a little better about agreeing to put something so close to my eyes, the windows to my world.   I’d love to have longer lashes but not at the expense of  my sight.  I read on their website that the eyelash growth serum is made with natural botanicals, many of which I’d previously heard.  That made me feel even better.  So when I heard that I’d been approved for the campaign I was ecstatic.FysikoTubeCollage

I’ve only ever tried over the counter lash growth options which unfortunately didn’t render any results.  The only other options I had read about that had clinical results were Revitalash and Latisse.  The prospect of having to go to the doctor for a prescription did not appeal to me.  The Fysiko eyelash growth serum is all natural and available without a prescription.  Fysiko is from the Greek meaning natural.  It is by no means cheap.  Each tube runs $139! Yikes.  BUT with proper usage and cleaning of the wand the serum will stay fresh, active and be enough to last 6 to 8 months.  If you break that down your best case scenario is $17.35/month – and you didn’t have to go to the doctor to get it.  They do have a 30 day money back guarantee.  Their site claims that you can start to see truly measurable results in as little as 6 weeks.

You’ll notice the applicator is very small and precise as it’s intended to only be applied sparingly along the lash line.  After each usage it is recommended to use an alcohol wipe to keep the wand and the serum clean and fresh.  I’ve been using either a cotton ball or a ply of toilet paper soaked with alcohol to clean the brush before I put it back in the tube.  So far what I’ve discovered is that unlike the cheap lash serum I tried this is very light, absorbs quickly and leaves no sticky residue on my eyelid.  You can put on your normal makeup over the serum once it’s completely absorbed and even apply mascara without an issue.  They say that after only 6 week you may eventually choose to stop using mascara altogether, we’ll see.

You can see from  my picture above that my lashes are neither thick nor long.  I’ll be applying the Fysiko serum twice a day over a period of 16 weeks.  That started this past Monday 4/29/13.  I’ll be keeping you posted as time passes to see how and if my lashes have really grown.  What’s cool is that the 6 week mark will land just before my wedding anniversary :).  How cool would that be to be able to go out to dinner with my husband and not have to wear mascara?!
