We live in a fast-paced, whomever-knows-first-knows-best kind of world.  The World Wide Web allows us to keep on on news at a moment’s notice.  It even allows us to create news on-the-go with our mobile smart phones, phablets, tablets and laptops.  I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen news articles online feature Tweets or Facebook status updates which were made in the heat of the action of a storm, business event, live TV show or sporting event.

Speaking of sports can you believe we are down to the Sweet 16 of NCAA March Madness already!?!  Will you be heading to a local sports bar to watch these 16 college basketball teams duke it out?  Or will you be staying at home to watch the magic unfold in your own private paradise?  Wherever you happen to be when the basketball action starts make sure to make the most of all your screens.

  1. The tournament games are streamed live so you can watch on your mobile devices when you’re on the go or even when you are at the office on your “lunch break” ;).  You can use the official app to watch the live games or use a device like SlingBox or a satellite provider’s DVR system to watch your home TV on the go.
  2. Keep track of your brackets while you watch with an online bracket site.
  3. Control your TV with your phone or tablet.  Several manufacturers now have apps that enable you to turn your smart phone into a smart remove for your, wait for it, smart TV!  Some cable and satellite providers offer apps to control their services and thus your TV as well.
  4. Send content to your TV screen wirelessly.  View your favorite news articles, photos, game moments or other websites on your TV’s big screen direct from your laptop or mobile device.

Either way using your smartphone, tablet or other mobile device during the game can help you feel more part of the action though you may be on the other side of the country.   Live sharing on social media awesome plays, exciting turnovers or interesting news you’ve discovered about the playing teams and their members helps add to the experience.  It’s a great way to document your emotions and thoughts as they happen.

My favorite way to stay connected is with my HDTV and satellite TV service complete with digital DVR.  It allows me to watch anything, anytime, anywhere and even record live TV.  So, if I’m ever not at home and I realize that my favorite show or sporting event is going to start while I’m out I don’t have to worry.  I can use my tablet or smartphone to log in to my satellite TV provider’s website or use their mobile app to find my show in the guide and schedule it to be recorded.

Not sure how to do any of the things mentioned above?  Visit your local Best Buy and ask them how you can integrate your current devices to make the most of every screen or how you can upgrade your systems to work more cohesively. Best Buy helps keep you connected to the excitement with the devices and connectivity that make it possible.  Brought to life by the brand promise of the latest devices and services, all in one place.
