Nutra Rise White Mulberry Tea Review #mulberrytea

Thanks to Nutra Rise I received a bag of loose leaf white mulberry tea to try.  My family loves tea and sometimes it’s difficult to find good tasting caffeine free teas which we can all use.  Not only is white mulberry tea delicious with a mild green tea and slightly fruity flavor but it has many health benefits.

“White Mulberry had been used as an herbal supplement and a rejuvenating tonic from ancient times in Asia. Active ingredients within the leaf are known to support the liver and kidneys, manage weight loss, promote blood circulation, reduce high blood pressure, control cholesterol levels, block sugar from entering the bloodstream which is related to diabetes and rich in anti-oxidants.”

To enjoy a cup of loose leaf white mulberry tea from Nutra Rise you can use a tea ball, an infuser, or fill-able tea bags. Another option is to steep and strain the leaves from the tea.  It’s very tasty with honey, stevia or sugar.  The tea is very good even without any kind of sweetener.  My 8 year old drank it without even a sprinkle of stevia and loved it!

When I received the tea I was in the process of learning how to make kombucha.  I thought maybe I could use this tea to make a batch, but learned that for the primary brew the SCOBY needs a caffeinated tea.  In order to use the white mulberry tea to make your kombucha it would be best done during the second ferment.

Update 2/24/15: I have been using the white mulberry tea directly in the first fermentation of kombucha making sure to have it only as a part of a blend featuring black and green teas.  This allows me to benefit from the tisanes nutritional and health improving features without damaging my SCOBY.  Using a blend which featured more tisanes like the mulberry, rooibos and yerba mate resulted in a rather flat and unappealing final product.  Once the ratio of real tea to tisanes was adjusted the flavor improved dramatically.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

That sounds like something I’d try, I enjoy a cup of good tea from time to time.
