Granola is a quick and easy way to integrate whole grain goodness into your busy life. Tasty, nutritious, convenient, and ready in no time at all you can enjoy granola anytime, anywhere. If you’re gluten free, however, it’s a bit more challenging.
First, you have to think about whether the oats in the granola of your choice are really gluten free and whether the granola is processed in a gluten free facility. If you have more dietary restrictions to worry about, finding the right granola can be a real challenge. Making your own granola is easy and allows you to be completely flexible about the ingredients and how they are processed.
We’ve put some essential granola making ingredients on special this month and found you several reliable, delicious recipes to use as inspiration. Not sure what to put in your mix of granolas? Try our Gluten Free Muesli as a base. It is full of fruits and nuts and just perfect for turning into granola.

There are lots of yummy ways to eat granola. Have it with milk, as you would cold cereal, or add milk or water and heat it up in the microwave for a quick hot breakfast. Use it as a topping for your favorite yogurt for a hearty breakfast or lunch, or on top of ice cream for a tasty treat. We keep some close by and reach for it whenever hunger sneaks up unexpectedly. It’s an easy, satisfying snack, and sometimes just a handful is all you need to carry you through to the next meal.
But granola isn’t just great for everyday meals and snacks-it’s also an excellent way to eat healthfully while traveling. Bring some along on a road trip to snack on instead of fast food or convenience store fare. If you’re flying, gluten free eating can be next-to-impossible. Instead, bring some Bob’s Red Mill granola with you in your carry-on bag for a nutritious in-flight snack. If you pack it in a re-sealable plastic container you can even add milk and make it a filling meal that will keep you going until you reach your destination.
We also love granola because it’s a perfect food for outdoor adventures. You need fuel to keep you going while you’re trekking, climbing and cycling, and granola is both nutritious and portable. Take some along when you go on a day hike or bike ride for an on-the-go snack, or bring a bag on backpacking and camping trips for a delicious, high-energy breakfast. |
