Thanks to Miracle Sound I received this #miraclesoundlavaliermic for review. You can use the clip to attach the omnidirectional mic to your lapel or collar. The 3.5mm plug fits into the mic/headphone jack on your phone. It’s compatible with Android and iOS, but I found out the hard way that it’s not compatible with all phones.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 and anything plugged into the 3.5 mm jack is recognized as a headphone or a headset (earphone/mic combo). The phone would not pick up any audio with this mic. I had to do some extra research. I chatted with a Samsung rep and they said that a mic like this is not in any way compatible with the S4. But other sources claim that an external mic can be used with the Samsung as long as you get an adapter for the jack. The only device I had available that recognized and was able to use the mic was my iPad 2.
The sound of the recording was not the greatest. It was a bit tinny. Even though it is supposed to be omnidirectional it didn’t always pick up the sound perfectly.
