You may have thought I’ve fallen off the face of the earth. Well, I’m still here, but my “fast”, relatively speaking, computer might as well have fallen off the face of the earth. It has been nothing but problems since I loaded Windows XP SP 3 and then tried to remove it. Microsoft tech support suggested that I use the original XP CD to repair the problem, but I can’t find mine and none of my friends or family can seem to find theirs either. So, it seems I’m sunk unless somehow my computer decides to boot to Windows and not just cycle in a boot loop.
I’m starting to become convinced that Mac may be a better solution for reliable computing. My brother has a Mac Laptop and he hasn’t had a bit of trouble with it in the two years that he’s had it. He runs Parallels on the laptop and the Windows installation he runs on that has been nothing, but problems and even crapped out last week. To get that back up and running he needs his old XP CD, but as I mentioned he can’t find it either!
Oh to have the disposable income available to just go out and buy a fully loaded MacBook! Anyone out there know of any contests (and not the ones that require credit cards to participate) where I might be able to enter to win a new PC or Mac?
