Our home has not had a land line since 2002. With both DH and I having cell phones and then the high cost of having a landline phone with long distance capabilities we dropped the service
and never looked back. Well, mostly. I’ve always wanted a land line phone back in the house especially after the kids were born. For some reason it has been a major pain to get any of the large telecom companies to come out and see if they can offer their service to our home without having them charge a $70 exploration fee. My father-in-law who worked for Sprint for 45 years says that is just a crock of crap and they should be able to tell over the phone if service is available to my address. Just goes to show how disinterested they are in adding new customers.
