Goody #TangleFix from the @Influenster #ParadiseVoxBox Review

Thanks to @Influenster I received a Goody TangleFix brush for the purposes of review.  When we received our #ParadiseVoxBox the first product we tried out was the TangleFix brush.  My daughters have shoulder length hair and mine is a little longer.  All three of us have different textures and thicknesses of hair so it was rather fun trying it on all three of us.  One of my struggles as a mother is getting my girls to either brush their hair or allow me to brush their hair in the mornings.  I’m sure that isn’t a foreign problem :-).  When I was first teaching them to brush their hair I noticed that one of the biggest issues was learning to manage the angle of the brush with a long handle.  Inevitably, they would get it stuck, wound up in their hair or with more tangles than they started with.

That being said, I like that the #TangleFix does not have a handle and is shaped ergonomically to fit either an adult hand or a child’s hand.  My girls are 4 and 7 and they were both able to handle the Goody TangleFix brush just fine.  The “bean-shaped” design allows it to sit comfortably in their hands.  The bristles are made out of slightly flexible plastic with rounded tips to prevent scratching.  The bristles are set in alternating rows of 1/2″ and 1/4″ lengths I would imagine to catch more of the tangles.  At first I was unsure how effective these short bristles would be on my older daughters thicker, slightly wavy hair, but on the first try it did a very good job getting out the knots – without her bursting into tears.  Needless to say the brush was the right tool at the right time because the hair care struggles were getting worse by the day and by the inch!

You can see from the pics above that my four year old and I used it to brush and pull up her hair the other morning.  She was, for the most part, able to smooth out her hair before I pulled it up into a ponytail using the TangleFix.  It’s going to take some practice and I think the child size would be even better for my girls to try out.  They both have a tendency to not push the brush all the way through their hair and miss the knots that form on the underside of their hair, usually the worst ones.

For me the TangleFix worked like a charm.  I liked the massaging my scalp got from the bristles.  Even with my thicker, curly hair I was able to brush through with the TangleFix even with curly haired bed head, lol.  I used it in the shower and after towel drying my hair as well and it worked very nicely to detangle without pulling my hair.  When the brush got loaded with hair or clumped with styling products it was easy to clean and quick to dry after washing.  Wiping dry with a towel was able to get most of the water off of it after a wash with soap and warm water.  This is a fact I appreciate because most conventional brushes take hours to dry.

The Goody TangleFix brush is available in 2 sizes – Child and Adult, both ergonomically designed to fit your hand perfectly.  The size I received was the Adult.  They promise “70% more gentle detangling”.  You can expect to pay between $7.99 & $8.99 for the TangleFix brush.

I was really skeptical when I saw the little bean at first. When I got my daughters using it regularly though and with less complaint I was sold. I use it on myself daily too.
