American Express is a We Are Earthformed advertiser.
WHAT IS SERVE® ?
IT’S FLEXIBLE
You get a Card and an online Account you can access from home or on the go with the Serve mobile app.
IT’S EASY
You can add money to your Account from a variety of funding sources, including Direct Deposit.
IT’S SMART
You won’t get hit with overdraft fees and there are no activation fees or minimum monthly balance requirements.
IT’S SAFE
Because Serve is from American Express, your money is secure.
I’ve had a SERVE card from American Express for at least the past two years. More and more businesses are accepting American Express so it made this prepaid card a desirable money management option. The process to open the card is super easy and funding the account is even more so. You can attach an existing bank account or debit card for either automatic reloads OR to add money at your convenience.
One of my favorite features of the Amex SERVE card is the ability to auto load funds when making a purchase up to a limit that you preset. For instance if your funds on the card are running low and you need to buy groceries or have some kind of emergency expense you can go ahead and make the purchase and Amex automatically requests the funds from your attached accounts. It’s like a preset overdraft protection, but you get the benefits and rewards of the SERVE card as well.
You can also set up subaccounts that each have their own card. This makes SERVE a great way to help an adolescent or young adult to manage spending. Or you could use them to give an allowance, stipend, share expenses OR pay the babysitter or nanny. In addition to SERVE’s spending limits you can set your own daily spending limits on the card.
Since getting SERVE I’ve had the privilege of earning all kinds of rewards from in-app rewards for games, big discounts and even some free stuff. Paired with an NFC enabled app like SoftCard (formerly Isis) the SERVE card by American Express becomes even easier to use and manage on a daily basis.
