It’s been a few months since I’ve solidly dedicated myself to any kind of diet or exercise regimen. All I can say is that not exercising, well, sucks. I’m weaker and though my weight hasn’t fluctuated much I feel fatter. It is amazing to see how your muscles hold everything up and in their proper place. Now that I’ve allowed my body more than enough time to get used to this current plateau I’m hoping that rejoining the Revolt Now Fitness ranks will jump start another session of sustained weight loss.
It’s the first day of the December Uprising and like a good girl I’ve done my measurements and weighed in. It’s Detox Week and I’m not looking forward to the diet at all. Typically the rest of the month is interesting and delectable but the first week is always a bit like torture. Chicken, brussel sprouts and sweet potatoes at 10 am? I’m going to have to push myself hard to adhere to that plan. Especially, since I don’t have any chicken in the house right now. I do have turkey though – I’m sure a lot of you do. Go easy on the dark meat and skin though if you have extra from holiday meals.

Something else that I noticed since taking a break from Revolt is my severe decrease in energy. By mid afternoon I feel like eating a pint of ice cream and hibernating. That’s why I don’t keep ice cream or cake or cookies in the house. If I did that uptick in weight might be times 10. No. Kidding.
Other than not having yet reached my goal weight a factor that moved me to start working out regularly again was a resurgence in back and hip pain that had been mostly under control during my first few months on Revolt. It may not seem possible that unending sessions of squats, planks and deadlifts would help my back and hip pain, but the strengthening of my muscles helped them hold everything in it’s proper place. Strangely enough I discovered I actually do like exercise. I just need to keep myself motivated and not allow being out of shape or in a little pain or tired keep me from pushing forward.
