Live Colors App for Kids Review #livecolors

One of the joys of childhood is coloring, painting, and learning to play with colors. For moms and dads this activity isn’t always the most convenient. The setup and cleanup makes this an activity that needs to be scheduled. Scheduled coloring time doesn’t always appeal to rambunctious little ones.

The Live Colors For Kids app for iOS takes on this educational activity head on. It turns your iPad into a mobile coloring book. Complete with music, narration and color mixing palette your child can have fun coloring in the provided drawings or create on their own. Each time they select a color the narrator tells them what color they’ve selected. If they want to use the primary colors and tints to create a new color all they need to do is add them to the palette. This way they learn through visual cues and audio reinforcement what colors it takes to create a new shade.

Both my daughters, ages 5 and 8, had fun with this app. They loved that they were able to save their pictures to a gallery within the app. They enjoyed creating their own drawings from scratch. The narration and background music did become tiresome after a while and they requested I turn it off. There was no way that I could find to turn the audio off without just muting my tablet.

Here are some screenshots of the app and the drawings the girls made:

Live Colors for kids is available for iOS on the AppStore. It’s only .99 for what promises to be hours of entertainment for your kids. What’s nice is it’s not mindless – they’ll be learning too.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
