TAKE ME HOME
UP ALL NIGHT
The Looks Collection is formulated by award winning make up artist Mark Wins. I received a complimentary “Take Me Home” Looks Collection in a portable collectable tin for review. This was perfect for me because the colors were mostly neutral. It allowed composing “Girl Next Door” looks for day and evening.
The lip colors were both sheer and super soft. The orange “Kiss You” UV lip gloss offered dewey coverage with a bit of shine from glitter. I was not successful in getting it to “glow” other than just wearing it ;). I did verify though that it will glow under a black light! The “Last First Kiss” lipstick is a soft pink that glides on more like a lip gloss than like a heavy lipstick. The color is great for every day wear or for a softer evening look.
In the “Take Me Home” Looks collection the eye colors are all shades of brown and one cream eye shadow that is golden, shiny and glittery. The eye shadows did not crease or run even after a long day. The dual tipped eye shadow applicator makes producing contoured looks a breeze. The creme shadow is easy to apply with just your fingertips.
The included chubby brown body crayon was great for eye makeup or for the stencils on any other part of the body. The stencils have fun shapes like lightening bolts, diamonds, arrows, crowns and triangles. These aren’t just for decorating your face and body, but can be used on your books, notes, scrap booking and other decorations – using markers or colored pencils of course :D.
My nails enjoyed the “Live While We’re Young” clear with chunky glitter polish. It went on easy and dried quick. This looks good on bare nails and would go great over other colors too.
My least favorite item in the set was the Carbon Black mascara. It was supposed to be volumizing, but for me it fell flat. It felt like a water based formula. It took all the curl out of my lashes. I ended up resorting to my own go to mascara to pull off the looks completely. Speaking of looks inside the lid of the tin there are tips to compose looks with the colors included in the collection.
