The UltiMITT Self Tanning Application Mitt & Organic Natural Self Tanning Lotion Review #Ten

This is the first time in my adult life I’ve been able to successfully apply self tanning lotion WITHOUT streaks. It’s all because of the Ultimitt! I’d almost given completely up on trying to do any kind of self tanning at home because I would inevitably end up with weird streaks, overlaps and missed places and then have stained fingers on top of it even after washing with soap. I’ll never self tan with my bare hands again. The mitt is soft and makes it super easy to spread even a small amount of tanning lotion around a fairly large area. I didn’t have to worry about my fingerprints leaving streaks on my calves or leaving too much lotion around my ankles, knees, or elbows. Since the mitt comes down past my wrist I didn’t have to worry much about getting the telltale application stain on my wrists and inner forearm. After application what I would do is gently rinse it with a bit of warm water and a little bit of soap until all the suds are gone. Then I’d roll it in a bath towel and gently squeeze out any excess moisture before hanging it up by it’s handy loop. The little face mitt made applying the same lotion to my face a breeze. It was surprising what quick work it made.

Thermalabs also gave me a bottle of their organic natural tanning lotion for the purposes of review along with their self tanning application mitt, the Ultimitt.  I’ve always been hesitant about self tanning because any time I’ve tried it either the lotion would absorb too quickly, not quickly enough, smell funny, leave streaks, stain my clothes, soak up into certain places and not others or leave my skin orange.  Reluctantly, I used the UltiMitt to apply this organic self tanning lotion to my legs first.  The smell was pleasant and it went on quickly and easily with the mitt.  The thin and even application developed into a gentle glow in a few hours.

I liked the thought of being able to build the color slowly instead of looking unnaturally dark overnight.  I’ve done a second application on my legs and will continue this way for a few more days since they don’t get exposure to sun much at all and tend to be the most pasty and the hardest part of my body to tan.  I did do one application on my whole body, even my face, and it was such a mild change no one in my family noticed which is ok by me.  The lotion did make my face sweat A LOT, but for me that isn’t unusual for any new lotion, cream or makeup.  Once I reach my desired color I’ll post the before and after results.

Just for fun a did an experiment where I applied some of the self tanning lotion to one leg and not the other. Here is what it looked like the next day. I was very conservative with the application using only one full pump each time. My right leg looks slightly darker.

From here I applied two pumps to my left leg and only one to my right leg to get them evened out with each other. Hopefully, by tomorrow they’ll look even and I can continue building my tan in preparation for our trip to Cedar Point in a few weeks.

I have never used a self tanning lotion before but it looks like there is a difference. It’s definitely something I may look into for sure. Great review!

Applying self tanner can be super hard! This mitt seems extremely helpful.

It does still take some practice, but it is much easier to do a better job even the first time.

That’s a good idea. I usually end up with streaks of color on my fingers. That and just an uneven overall look.

This is something I have zero interest in. I’ll take me as I am.
