In the last few years I’ve switched to using olive oil in most of my cooking. Also, since I’ve been married vegetable shortening has only made a few appearances in our kitchen. Both my husband and I believe that a little bit of a natural thing is much better than a lot (if any at all) of something synthesized. I’ve known for years that margarine is so processed that it is more akin to plastic than a food.
