Vegetable oil and margarine are artificial fats that have a very negative effect on the body. Find out why you shouldn’t consume these oils.

In the last few years I’ve switched to using olive oil in most of my cooking.  Also, since I’ve been married vegetable shortening has only made a few appearances in our kitchen.  Both my husband and I believe that a little bit of a natural thing is much better than a lot (if any at all) of something synthesized.  I’ve known for years that margarine is so processed that it is more akin to plastic than a food.  Reading this article just brought home for me that I should only used cold pressed oils, butter and lard in my cooking if I want to give my family something natural that the body will recognize.

    Margarin is the worst! I’ve been trying to convince people of it for years, but people have been tricked into thinking it’s good for them =(

    I cook with canola oil from time to time and feel guilty about that but I know that margarine is even worse. Whenever I can I try to use olive or coconut oil.

      When I found out this information I totally started rethinking the way I cook. I’m sure you are well aware how hard it is to break away from what we’ve become used to – the textures, flavors and ease of use. Like you I too use mostly olive oil and coconut oil when I can. I just thought I had to share this because I can’t be the only one who wasn’t aware of all the chemicals used in the processing of our cooking oil.
