It’s not the end of the world. . .

It’s not the end of the world. . .

Can you please help remind me that it’s not the end of the world?

After last weekend that we went to Cedar Point and I worked hard along with the girls to wrap up their school year my diet was completely off the rails.  It jumped the tracks, went headlong off a high bridge and dove straight into the rapids of a rushing hot fudge river.  Kind of :).  Though I didn’t eat hot fudge I did have WAAAAAY more to eat than I should have and too many calorie laden things (donuts, cheesecake, ice cream, pastries, lots of bread – oh, it was yummy).  My stomach and my scale are paying for it today.  I’ve rebounded a few pounds. . . like almost 5, but I’m trying to remain positive.

One thing learned was just because you are doing more exercise and physical work than normal does NOT mean you can forget about what you are putting in your mouth.  Granted, we ate out a lot because we weren’t at home and it can be hard to always find items that will keep you satiated and within a reasonable range of your calorie budget.  There were a few days I didn’t even keep track because I didn’t really want to know :(.  It was bad.  I knew it was.

So, today I’m rebooting and getting back on track.  The focus is on flavor and volume.  Lots of hot sauce, spices and strong flavors will help me enjoy the food I prepare with less fat.  High fiber, low calorie density foods like spinach, kale, broccoli and other deep green veggies will feature greatly in my diet this week and weeks to come.  Also, high protein lean meats like chicken and fish (not my fave :P) will replace the ground beef, sausage and bacon I had too much of  last week.  My body will feel better.  It has to because today I’m not feeling so hot.

Even though I’m up a few pounds from my overall loss of 21.4 lbs.  since I started Venus Factor the mirror is telling me there is progress.  So are my pants.  I had to put a new notch in my belt!!!  That felt great.  Actually, feeling like my pants were falling off me felt great :D.  My blouses are either fitting better or fitting really loose on me.  Our 15th anniversary is in three weeks and I’d like to be down another 10 lbs. and hopefully be able to get my engagement ring back on that I haven’t been able to wear in almost 5 years.

So. . . it’s not the end of the world.  I just need to get back on track.

Thanks to Venus Factor I received complimentary access to their 12 week weight loss system for women for the purposes of review.
