Fractionated Coconut Oil Review #tomoson

FractCocoOilBefore I received a bottle of fractionated coconut oil for review I really did not know what it was.  I’ve used coconut oil for cooking and moisturizing and makeup removal for a few years and always vacilated between loving and hating that at less than 76 degrees F it was solid.  Unless I heated it in my hands before using I couldn’t dip a cotton swab or ball into it to soak it up so I could use it for cleaning my makeup.  As nice as it works for moisturizing skin it is a little greasy and smelly.  After a while I didn’t really care for the way I smelled.  Fractionated coconut oil has all the benefits of coconut oil in a permanently liquid, shelf-stable, rancidity resistant form.

Advantages of Fractionated Coconut Oil
Coconut oil has long been used all over the world for its many therapeutic and other benefits to the skin. It has antiviral and antibacterial properties, a wonderful balance of saturated fats in its natural form and helps stimulate hair growth. Many aromatherapy recipes use coconut oil for the various therapeutic benefits it offers. Fractionated coconut oil is a fraction of the coconut oil from which almost all the long chain triglycerides are removed, thus leaving mainly the medium-chain triglycerides and making it an absolutely saturated oil. This saturation gives it a very long shelf life and greatly increased stability. In addition, fractionating raises the comparative concentration of Capric acid and Caprylic acid, thus giving it more of antioxidant and disinfecting effect.

I received this product for the purposes of review. It could not have come at a better time. My daughters and I have been using coconut oil for oil pulling. Having the liquefied product is much easier to dispense. When we received the bottle of fractionated coconut oil the first thing I used it for was to give my little girl a back massage. From the time she was an infant she has had trouble with tension and knots on the right side of her neck and shoulder. It was so much easier to mix in a few drops of peppermint oil for fragrance and cool heat than the alternative of trying to use regular coconut oil I’d have to melt in my hands first. A little bit goes a lo-o-o-o-o-ong way. When spread thinly over your skin it absorbs quickly and does not leave a greasy feeling or sheen. I’ve even used it on my hair as a conditioning treatment and as a nighttime facial moisturizer in the hopes to harness the antibacterial properties of the oil to help fight acne AND signs of aging. You could do this with regular coconut oil, but using fractionated oil makes moisturizing, cleansing, conditioning, aromatherapy and massage so much easier to accomplish

I received a complimentary sample for the purposes of review.
